To my Red Table and Chairs

As I sit inside at my desk looking out, I see the red cafe set. Two red chairs and a red table. I saw them at my local supermarket all summer long, with a price tag I just didn’t want to spend. So I waited and waited. And one day there was only one set left outside the store. Last fall. It had a sale sign, yet no price. I went in and asked about it to the manager and she offered it to me at less than half the original price! $40. I could totally afford it. I ran home, grabbed my car, loaded it in and put in on my deck. I’ve had many wonderful conversations sitting there. And now, I am looking at it, glistening in the dappled sunlight. Thank you to this little dream of having the red table and chairs on my deck coming true!
